deacons

We believe that the unique service of Deacons to the local Church should be formed by the ancient Scriptures rather than tradition or the wisdom or cleverness of men. For us, this means that the Church at Raymond is served by men qualified to hold the office of Deacon (1 Timothy 3:8-13). The Deacons are not responsible for the leadership within the Chruch. They are called to uniquely serve the body by allowing the pastors to devote themselves to teaching, preaching and prayer (Acts 6:2-4). They are to promote and preserve unity within the local body (Acts 6:1-7).
